Honey Crinkle Cookies
These are much like good old Molasses Cookies but a bit lighter. Delicious for eating with apples and honey for Rosh Hashanah. L’Shana Tova to all!
Ingredients:
2 1.4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
pinch salt
1 cup dark brown sugar
3/4 cup shortening, butter or margarine
1/4 cup honey
1 egg
granulated sugar for rolling
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl. In a separate bowl cream the shortening and brown sugar. Add honey and egg and mix well. Slowly add dry ingredients and blend until a dough forms.
Wet hands and roll dough into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar and place on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper. Bake for 12-13 minutes.
